Every July, we celebrate National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) to further strengthen the resilience of Filipinos and the entire nation. This observance began on June 28, 2017, through Executive Order No. 29. The month-long celebration aims to raise awareness and enhance the disaster preparedness of every community, ensuring that we are all equipped to handle various calamities and emergencies.
In solidarity with this celebration, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Pampanga will be sharing valuable knowledge and information on disaster management and climate change in the coming days. We are launching the #NDRMKapampanganKnows campaign to increase our understanding of the different aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and climate change. This initiative will provide essential insights into how we can better prepare for and respond to natural disasters, ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities.
Pampanga, in cooperation with the National Government, is committed to promoting effective disaster management practices in the country, especially within our province. We recognize the importance of being proactive in our efforts to mitigate the impact of disasters and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change. Through education, training, and community engagement, we aim to build a culture of preparedness and resilience among Kapampangans.
Throughout the month, various activities and programs will be conducted to highlight the significance of disaster resilience. These will include seminars, workshops, and drills designed to equip individuals and communities with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to emergencies. By participating in these activities, we can all contribute to creating a safer and more resilient Pampanga.
One of the key messages of NDRM is that preparedness is crucial to our safety. Simple measures, such as having an emergency plan, knowing evacuation routes, and staying informed about potential hazards, can make a significant difference in times of crisis. The #NDRMKapampanganKnows campaign will emphasize these points, encouraging everyone to take active steps toward disaster preparedness.
As we observe National Disaster Resilience Month, let us also reflect on the importance of collaboration and cooperation. Building a resilient community requires the collective effort of individuals, families, local government units, and various organizations. Together, we can create a robust network of support and resources that will help us withstand and recover from any disaster.
Remember, preparedness is the key to our safety! Let us all take this opportunity to learn, engage, and take action to ensure that our province and our nation are resilient in the face of disasters. Happy National Disaster Resilience Month!
