ANGELES CITY—Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will personally donate paint materials and cement to the city’s 57 public schools as part of the Brigada Eskwela this July. Each school will receive 40 liters of paint, along with paint rollers and 10 bags of cement. This initiative aims to assist in the cleanup and restoration activities for the upcoming school year, ensuring that the learning environment remains conducive for students.
“Nais po nating makatulong upang mapanatiling maayos ang kundisyon ng ating mga paaralan para maenganyong matuto ang mga estudyante,” Mayor Lazatin stated. His commitment to supporting education has been evident throughout his tenure, consistently prioritizing the improvement of school facilities. The provision of these materials underscores his dedication to maintaining a high standard of education in Angeles City.
Staying true to his advocacy for enhancing the quality of education, Mayor Lazatin has made it a tradition to donate construction materials to public schools yearly since he began his public service career as a city councilor in 2013. This long-standing tradition highlights his unwavering support for the educational sector, recognizing the importance of a well-maintained learning environment in fostering academic success.
“Ang edukasyon po ay mananatiling una sa ating listahan, na alam naman po natin na sandata ng ating mga kabataan tungo sa pag-unlad,” Lazatin emphasized. By providing essential materials, Mayor Lazatin is not only improving school facilities but also encouraging students to pursue their education with enthusiasm.
Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. In addition to his regular contributions, Mayor Lazatin announced a major project during his State of the City Address (SOCA) 2024, aimed at reinforcing Angeles City’s education system. This project involves establishing state-of-the-art computer laboratories in five public schools. These modern facilities will equip students with the technology skills needed for today’s globally competitive environment, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities.
