On December 9, 2024, the Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., extended financial assistance and rice subsidies to 83 differently-abled individuals from Barangay Lourdes Northwest. This aid was delivered through a house-to-house visit by local officials, aiming to provide direct support to those in need within the community. Each recipient received P1,000 in cash assistance and five kilos of rice as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to uplift and support individuals with disabilities.
The distribution was overseen by the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), led by Ryan David. David noted that this initiative reflects Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs). “This is not the first time that Mayor Lazatin has distributed financial assistance to the PWD sector,” David stated, underscoring the mayor’s consistent dedication to addressing the needs of this community.
