On December 12, 2024, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the successful 12.12 PasalOne live selling event, showcasing the high-quality Gawang Angeleño products. The event, which highlights locally-made goods, is a part of the city’s ongoing support for its micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Mayor Lazatin emphasized the excellence of the products, underlining that they reflect the talent and creativity of Angelenos.
During the live selling, the mayor extended his gratitude to the local miners who actively participated in the event, contributing to its success. This annual live selling initiative, which began in 2020, continues to be a key project under the leadership of Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who have consistently supported the program since its launch.
The OTOP (One Town, One Product) initiative is managed by the Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office (ACEDEIPO), led by Irish Bonus-Llego. Bonus-Llego took the opportunity to express appreciation to all the sponsors who contributed to the event, particularly those who provided raffle prizes for the miners. Among the generous sponsors were Mayor Lazatin, who donated two smart TVs, and partners such as Calaguas, Manuel, FilChoice, and Beautéderm, represented by President and CEO Rei Anicoche-Tan.
Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting also joined the live selling event, officially opening it and promoting the products. She expressed that the event serves as a vital platform to support local merchants, providing them with the opportunity to reach a wider audience and boost their livelihoods. Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting even tried her hand at selling Gawang Angeleño products, encouraging viewers to support the city’s local entrepreneurs.
City Accountant Lilibeth Enriquez and City Budget Officer Jane Nakpil also participated in the live selling, showcasing and promoting the local products. Their involvement reflected the city’s commitment to supporting its businesses and encouraging a community-wide effort in local product promotion.
The City Information Office staff, including Kim Tayag, Danica Cervantes, Alessandro Canlas, and Leah Isidro De Fiesta, were present to assist in the live selling event, helping to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Their support was crucial in maintaining the energy and excitement of the online selling experience.
This annual event highlights the city’s dedication to promoting its local artisans and entrepreneurs. By giving them a platform to showcase their goods, the OTOP initiative has become an essential tool for empowering the local economy and fostering sustainable growth within Angeles City.
