In a continued effort to support the city’s most vulnerable residents, the Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., is set to begin house-to-house distribution of financial assistance and Vitamin C supplements to senior citizens, bedridden individuals, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs). The distribution will begin in the second week of January 2025.
A preparatory meeting to finalize the details of the distribution was held on January 2, led by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel. The meeting was attended by several key city officials, including City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra, City Human Resources and Management Officer Rowena Yambao, City Social Welfare and Development Officer-in-Charge Francis De Guzman, Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head Ed Torres, and Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to serving the needs of our most vulnerable residents,” said Mayor Lazatin. He emphasized that the house-to-house visits are part of the city’s strategy to ensure that senior citizens and bedridden Angeleños receive the care and support they deserve, especially as they face the challenges of old age or illness.
Since taking office, the Lazatin administration has consistently prioritized delivering direct services to senior citizens and bedridden residents, ensuring they receive financial aid, health supplements, and essential care at their homes. The distribution program will continue this effort, particularly benefiting those who have limited mobility.
In 2024, a total of 3,735 Angeleños received home-based assistance, which included vital vaccinations and health supplies, further emphasizing the city’s commitment to reaching its most vulnerable residents. The administration aims to build on this success by extending support to even more senior citizens and bedridden individuals in the new year.
Mayor Lazatin’s vision of “No Angeleño Left Behind” has driven the city’s outreach efforts, focusing on improving the quality of life for all citizens. Through programs like this, the administration seeks to create a more inclusive and compassionate community, where every resident’s well-being is prioritized.
This initiative underscores the city government’s ongoing dedication to ensuring that essential aid and services reach those who need them the most. The house-to-house distribution will begin in mid-January, with the goal of providing immediate assistance to senior citizens, bedridden residents, and other vulnerable individuals across Angeles City.
Summary: Starting in January 2025, Angeles City will distribute financial assistance and health supplements to senior citizens, bedridden individuals, and other vulnerable residents. The initiative reflects Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the city’s most at-risk groups.
