On January 9, 2025, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (ACDRRMO) Rudy Simeon presented the ACDRRMO’s new uniforms and an updated hazard map to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. This unveiling, which took place at City Hall, is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve its disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
Joining Mayor Lazatin and Simeon at the presentation were Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and other members of the ACDRRMO team. The unveiling of the new uniforms is a symbolic move, reinforcing the city’s commitment to public safety and ensuring that first responders are easily identifiable during emergency situations.
Simeon explained that the new uniforms reflect the team’s unwavering dedication to protecting the public and responding quickly to disasters. The uniforms are designed for better functionality and visibility, enabling emergency personnel to move efficiently in times of crisis while ensuring they can be spotted by residents and other responders.
Alongside the new uniforms, the ACDRRMO also introduced an updated hazard map, which provides more precise data on flood-prone areas and evacuation routes. This updated map will serve as a crucial tool for guiding disaster response efforts and will help inform residents about safe evacuation paths during emergencies.
The updated hazard map also highlights areas of concern that were previously not fully addressed, ensuring that emergency teams are better prepared for potential flooding and other natural disasters. With clearer information about evacuation zones, residents will have better access to crucial safety measures during critical times.
Mayor Lazatin commended the ACDRRMO’s efforts, emphasizing that these updates are vital in enhancing the city’s overall disaster preparedness. By providing up-to-date tools and ensuring that response teams are well-equipped and highly visible, the city is taking proactive steps to protect its residents from disasters.
The ongoing improvements in the city’s disaster risk reduction strategy reflect the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the public. With these updates to uniforms and hazard maps, the ACDRRMO is better positioned to respond to emergencies and provide timely, effective assistance to the people of Angeles City.
