Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. continues his commitment to maintaining peace and order in the city. On January 14, 2025, he presided over the Joint First Quarter City Peace and Order Council, Anti-Drug Abuse Council, and Task Force Against Local Communist Armed Conflict Meeting. The gathering took place at the City Planning and Development Office Conference Room, bringing together various local government officials and agencies involved in ensuring the safety of Angeleños.
The meeting aimed to discuss the steps being taken by the city government to maintain peace and security across the city. Mayor Lazatin emphasized his administration’s dedication to providing a safe and secure environment for all residents. He highlighted the importance of cooperation among various sectors in achieving this goal.
During the session, representatives from key city departments and offices presented updates on their programs, projects, and accomplishments related to peace and order. Among those who shared their reports were officials from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC).
The city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer, Rudy Simeon, also presented his office’s initiatives to ensure the safety of Angeleños during natural calamities and emergencies. Each department shared its ongoing efforts in addressing issues such as criminality, drug abuse, and local insurgency, as well as the progress of their current projects.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his full support for the continuous efforts of the different offices involved in maintaining peace and order. He reaffirmed his commitment to fighting criminality, the illegal drug trade, and any local insurgent threats. According to the mayor, these issues remain crucial to achieving lasting peace in the city.
The city’s efforts to combat these challenges are expected to be strengthened through constant monitoring and coordination among local and national agencies. The mayor also emphasized the importance of community involvement in helping maintain peace, urging the public to remain vigilant and supportive of the government’s initiatives.
