The Angeles City Government’s monthly Kadiwa program has made its return, offering residents access to fresh and affordable local products. This initiative provides a platform for local farmers and entrepreneurs to showcase their goods, ensuring that Angeleños have easy access to quality and budget-friendly items. The program kicked off with eight kiosks open to the public from January 22-23, 2025, at the city hall compound.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. visited the event and emphasized the importance of the Kadiwa program in supporting the city’s local economy. He stated, “This monthly Kadiwa program consistently supports our local farmers and entrepreneurs while ensuring Angeleños have access to fresh, affordable products.” The program is designed to benefit both the residents and the local vendors, creating a sustainable way to promote local produce.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, and Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego are overseeing the initiative. Under their guidance, the program continues to provide a monthly venue for merchants, fostering community engagement and economic growth.
The return of the Kadiwa program is part of a broader commitment by Mayor Lazatin to support agriculture and promote locally grown produce. By offering an accessible and affordable market for these goods, the program helps stimulate local trade and provides a reliable source of income for farmers and entrepreneurs.
The Kadiwa program is part of a national initiative launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through the Department of Agriculture. Its goal is to ensure the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and to assist communities with low-income families.
Mayor Lazatin’s administration has long supported such initiatives, recognizing the importance of agriculture in the city’s economy. By supporting the Kadiwa program, the city government is making a direct impact on the livelihoods of local farmers and small business owners while simultaneously benefiting the residents of Angeles City.
With the ongoing success of the Kadiwa program, Mayor Lazatin remains committed to improving the quality of life for the people of Angeles City through continued support for agriculture, local businesses, and community-driven initiatives. The monthly event provides a valuable opportunity for residents to purchase fresh, affordable goods while also helping to boost the local economy.
