In an effort to curb the spread of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has directed the Angeles City Barangay Outreach, led by Michael Lising, to carry out a disinfection operation at Trinity School on February 1, 2025. The disinfection was closely monitored by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, ensuring that the process was conducted thoroughly and effectively.
This disinfection effort is part of the city’s ongoing response to suspected cases of HFMD reported in local schools. With the increasing concerns surrounding the spread of the disease, the city is taking proactive steps to protect students, teachers, and staff by ensuring that schools are sanitized and free of harmful pathogens.
Dr. Verona Guevarra, the City Health Officer, emphasized that the city is using Anolyte, an advanced and eco-friendly disinfectant, in all its cleaning efforts. Anolyte is a powerful yet safe solution that provides thorough sanitation without posing any health risks to students or the environment. Its use is integral to maintaining a clean and safe learning space while preventing further contamination.
The disinfection at Trinity School marks just one of many steps the city is taking to combat the spread of HFMD. The local government has announced that similar disinfection operations will be carried out in other public and private elementary schools across Angeles City. These measures are aimed at ensuring a healthy environment for all students and faculty.
The decision to take swift action has been well-received by the community, with parents and school officials expressing their appreciation for the city’s efforts to ensure a safe educational environment. By addressing the threat of HFMD head-on, the city is demonstrating its commitment to safeguarding the health of its young residents.
Mayor Lazatin’s administration continues to prioritize public health and safety, with a particular focus on preventing the spread of infectious diseases in schools. This initiative reflects the city’s dedication to taking preventive measures and responding quickly to emerging health threats.
As the situation continues to develop, the city government will remain vigilant, monitoring for any new HFMD cases and taking necessary actions. Through these proactive measures, the leadership of Mayor Lazatin ensures that Angeles City is prepared to protect its residents from potential health risks, especially within schools.
