On February 4, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, under the direction of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., visited the newly-expanded Command Center in preparation for its upcoming inauguration this Thursday. The inspection marks a key milestone in the city’s efforts to improve public safety and emergency response capabilities.
Joining Calaguas and Manuel in the inspection were several city officials, including Command Center Chief Michael Lising, Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles, General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, and Engr. Angelo Tayag from the City Engineer’s Office (CEO). Together, they reviewed the facilities and the new systems put in place to enhance the center’s effectiveness.
A major highlight of the expansion is the installation of 63 additional security cameras, placed at strategic locations throughout the city. These cameras are part of the city’s broader initiative to improve surveillance and security, ensuring that public spaces are monitored around the clock.
The expanded Command Center will serve as a hub for coordinating law enforcement efforts, crime prevention, and emergency responses. With its improved technology and infrastructure, the center will be better equipped to handle incidents and assist in emergency situations swiftly and efficiently.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that the expansion of the Command Center is part of his ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety in Angeles City. By investing in this infrastructure, the city aims to reduce crime rates, improve response times during emergencies, and create a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.
The installation of these additional cameras further demonstrates the city’s focus on proactive crime prevention. By increasing surveillance, the city hopes to deter criminal activity and make it easier for law enforcement to respond quickly when needed.
The inauguration of the expanded Command Center is set to take place this Thursday, marking a significant step toward improving the city’s law enforcement and emergency capabilities. Mayor Lazatin’s vision for a safer Angeles City continues to take shape with this latest development, ensuring that the city is well-prepared to address security challenges moving forward.
