Angeles City’s Command Center has officially unveiled its expanded surveillance network with the installation of 210 additional security cameras, bringing the total to 375 cameras spread throughout the city. This expansion effectively eliminates any remaining blind spots, significantly improving the city’s ability to monitor key areas for public safety.
The inauguration and blessing ceremony of the newly-expanded Command Center was attended by various local officials, including Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. The event marked a milestone in the city’s efforts to enhance its security infrastructure and ensure a safer environment for all residents and businesses.
The newly installed cameras include 125 PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, which are equipped with 8mp resolution and 36x optical zoom, offering excellent coverage even in challenging lighting conditions. In addition, the expansion includes 250 bullet cameras, each with 4mp resolution, providing clear footage with a wide dynamic range. These cameras are strategically placed in high-traffic areas to maximize their effectiveness.
The Command Center now also includes 16 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at key city boundaries, including those in Porac, Mabalacat City, San Fernando, and Magalang. These cameras will help the city monitor and track vehicles entering and leaving, contributing to better traffic management and increased security.
To operate the expanded system, 39 new CCTV operators have been hired, bringing the total number of operators to 72. These operators work in three shifts to ensure 24/7 monitoring and timely responses to security incidents. In addition, the Command Center has been equipped with advanced computers, streamlining the operation and management of the expanded CCTV system.
The Command Center also features a new facial recognition security door lock system, adding another layer of protection for critical areas within the center. This state-of-the-art technology allows for quick and accurate identification of individuals entering secure locations.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted that the installation of the additional cameras is part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety through technological advancements. The expansion of the Command Center is a key step toward ensuring the safety of the city, with the local government continuing to prioritize crime prevention and law enforcement efficiency.
