On February 10, 2025, a total of 67 differently-abled individuals from Barangay Capaya were recipients of much-needed financial assistance and rice subsidies. The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., delivered P1,000 in cash aid and five kilos of rice to each beneficiary through a house-to-house distribution effort.
Mayor Lazatin was joined by Ryan David, the head of the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), who helped facilitate the smooth distribution process. David noted that this event was part of a larger, ongoing initiative to provide support for the differently-abled community in Angeles City. He also mentioned that this was not the first time the mayor had provided financial assistance to the sector.
The welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs) has been one of the top priorities of Mayor Lazatin’s administration. By focusing on the needs of the differently-abled, the mayor has ensured that they receive the attention and resources required to improve their quality of life, especially amid difficult times.
In total, 2,500 differently-abled Angeleños are expected to benefit from the same assistance throughout the city. Each of these individuals will receive P1,000 in cash and five kilos of rice. The initiative is designed to help ease their financial burdens and ensure they have access to basic necessities.
The distribution was conducted directly at the homes of the recipients, ensuring that the aid reached individuals who may have difficulty traveling to pick up their support. This house-to-house method highlights the city government’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all residents, regardless of their situation.
Mayor Lazatin’s proactive approach to delivering aid directly to the doorstep of those in need demonstrates his dedication to enhancing the lives of PWDs. His efforts, alongside the support from the PDAO, help to foster a more supportive and inclusive environment for the city’s differently-abled population.
Local residents have expressed their gratitude for the timely and consistent assistance they receive, with many praising the mayor’s continuous efforts to support them. As the city government continues to prioritize the welfare of persons with disabilities, the people of Angeles City look forward to more initiatives aimed at enhancing their well-being and opportunities.
