On February 13, 2025, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) officially approved the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2021-2030 of Angeles City during a simple ceremony in Diliman, Quezon City. Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., alongside City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Nilda Quito, received a certificate of approval from DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, marking a significant step toward the city’s urban development goals.
Secretary Acuzar praised the efforts of the Angeles City Government, commending their dedication to sustainable and well-planned growth. He acknowledged the city’s proactive approach in shaping a brighter future for its communities, underscoring the importance of careful land resource management in fostering development.
The CLUP serves as a strategic tool for the local government, allowing them to allocate available land for various sectors and functions within the city. It guides the proper distribution of land resources, ensuring that growth is balanced and that infrastructure and development needs are met in an organized manner.
Mayor Lazatin expressed that the approval of the CLUP is a significant milestone for Angeles City, emphasizing its role in advancing sustainable and resilient urban development. He noted that the plan reflects the city’s commitment to forward-thinking planning, which prioritizes the welfare of every Angeleño. “This milestone reaffirms our commitment to responsible and forward-thinking city planning,” Mayor Lazatin said.
The approved CLUP aligns with the PLANADO Program’s vision of creating greener, smarter, and more inclusive human settlements. It serves as a crucial roadmap for the city’s growth and development, addressing the diverse needs of its residents while ensuring environmental sustainability.
Angeles City’s strategic location, positioned at the crossroads of Central Luzon’s major transportation hubs, has made it an attractive center for urbanization and economic activity. With the newly approved land use plan, the city is poised to further capitalize on its location, guiding future development in a structured and sustainable way.
In conclusion, the approval of Angeles City’s CLUP marks a critical step toward achieving responsible urban planning and development. With a clear vision for the future, the city is now better equipped to manage its growth and ensure that its development benefits all Angeleños, while promoting a sustainable and inclusive future for generations to come.
