On February 19, 2025, former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan paid a courtesy visit to Angeles City Hall, where he was warmly received by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. The visit marked a significant moment for both local leaders and Pangilinan, who is known for his staunch advocacy for Filipino farmers and efforts to modernize agricultural practices in the country.
During his visit, Mayor Lazatin handed Pangilinan a One Town, One Product (OTOP) souvenir, which the former senator admired. Aside from the exchange of gifts, Pangilinan was given the chance to sample the latest flavors offered by Kapebaluan, a café run by the city. The tasting session allowed him to experience firsthand the innovative culinary creations that the city has introduced to the public.
Pangilinan’s visit was further attended by a number of prominent city officials, including Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, City Councilor Atty. Arvin Suller, and City Administrator Atty. Willie Rivera. The presence of these leaders emphasized the city’s collaborative spirit and strong relationship with the former senator.
Also in attendance were Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin Angeles, City Tourism Officer Anneleen Sugui, ACDRRMO Chief Rudy Simeon, and the Environmental Management System Head Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan. The diverse group highlighted the city’s commitment to fostering partnerships and promoting community development across different sectors.
Throughout the visit, the discussions also centered around local issues, especially in terms of supporting the agricultural sector. Pangilinan’s longstanding advocacy for farmers resonated with local leaders, who have been working to create policies that align with his vision for a more sustainable and modernized agricultural industry.
The visit concluded on a positive note, strengthening the relationship between Pangilinan and the Angeles City government. It also reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration between local leaders and national figures in the pursuit of inclusive growth and development for the city and its people.
