The Angeles City Government’s Kadiwa ni Kita at Ani program made its return at the City Hall on February 19-20, 2025, offering an array of fresh produce and locally-made products at affordable prices. Nine stalls were set up for the two-day event, drawing attention to the importance of supporting local farmers and businesses.
In its previous iteration in January 2025, the Kadiwa program generated P67,180 in sales in just two days, benefiting local entrepreneurs and farmers. This success reflects the growing support for the program and the positive impact it has on both the economy and the community.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. underscored the importance of patronizing small businesses through the Kadiwa stalls. “Purchasing from the Kadiwa vendors does not just support their livelihood, but also promotes local goods while providing reasonable prices and good quality food for Angeleños,” Mayor Lazatin said, reinforcing the program’s value to the local economy.
The program, which aims to assist small businesses, is organized monthly by the Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office. This initiative is headed by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, with the support of Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who ensures the smooth execution of the event and the promotion of local products.
Mayor Lazatin, Calaguas, and Manuel were seen visiting the Kadiwa stalls, showing their support by purchasing goods and encouraging others to do the same. Their presence highlights the city’s dedication to the success of the program and the importance of buying locally.
The Kadiwa initiative, which was launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through the Department of Agriculture, has been a key part of the government’s efforts to ensure the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and low-income communities.
In conclusion, the monthly Kadiwa program is a vital component of Angeles City’s commitment to supporting local farmers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. With its growing success, the program continues to provide affordable food options for the residents while promoting sustainable livelihoods within the community.
