On February 20, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. conducted an official inspection of the new Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) building, a major development aimed at enhancing the city’s healthcare facilities. The visit was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the progress of the hospital’s expansion, which is vital for providing better medical services to the community.
Joining the mayor during the inspection were City Councilor Atty. Arvin Suller, RLMMC Chief Medical Doctor Froilan Canlas, and ACDRRMO Chief Rudy Simeon. Barangay Malabanias officials were also present, including Barangay Captain Luz Nava, Kagawads Idy Pamintuan, Amado Lalic, and Alexander Flores, who all played a part in supporting the growth of the medical center.
The mayor’s visit comes at a crucial time, as the Phase 2 construction of the RLMMC is currently underway. This phase is set to complete the 5th to 7th floors of the RLMMC annex building, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s overall development plan. The new floors will significantly increase the hospital’s capacity to accommodate more patients and provide critical healthcare services.
According to Mayor Lazatin, the additional space provided by the expansion will be instrumental in enhancing the hospital’s ability to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the population. As one of the city’s leading medical facilities, RLMMC plays a central role in delivering essential medical services, including emergency care, surgeries, and various specialized treatments.
The ongoing expansion is part of Lazatin’s broader commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in Angeles City. The mayor emphasized that the development of RLMMC is crucial in ensuring that the city remains equipped to handle the increasing demand for medical services, especially during times of crisis or emergencies.
Mayor Lazatin also expressed his satisfaction with the current progress of the construction, acknowledging the hard work and cooperation of the various individuals involved in the project. The expansion of RLMMC is expected to enhance the hospital’s overall services, improving healthcare access for both the local community and neighboring areas.
With the completion of Phase 2, RLMMC will be well-positioned to meet the future healthcare needs of Angeles City’s residents. The new facilities are poised to offer more space for medical staff, advanced equipment, and improved services, ensuring that the city’s healthcare system continues to meet the highest standards of care.
