On February 26, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. extended a warm welcome to Patrick Tolentino, the son of Senator Francis Tolentino, and Tagaytay City Councilor Henry Vergara during their courtesy visit at the Mayor’s Office. This visit is part of a continued engagement between local and national leaders aimed at strengthening collaboration for the benefit of the community.
The Mayor was joined by Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin Angeles and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles in welcoming the distinguished guests. The friendly visit provided an opportunity for open discussions between the local government and the visitors about potential future initiatives and ongoing programs for the people of Angeles City.
Senator Francis Tolentino, who was unable to attend the visit, had already made a significant impact earlier in the day by facilitating the distribution of financial assistance to 559 indigent Angeleños under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. This timely aid was aimed at providing immediate relief to those in need, a gesture that has been greatly appreciated by the residents of Angeles.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his gratitude to Senator Tolentino for his continued support of the city, particularly for his efforts in ensuring that financial assistance reaches those who need it most. The Mayor also acknowledged the importance of such programs in addressing the immediate needs of the city’s most vulnerable populations.
During the courtesy visit, Mayor Lazatin and his guests discussed ways to further improve the delivery of services to Angeleños. The exchange highlighted the strong partnership between local government officials and national leaders, demonstrating their collective commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the community.
Councilor Vergara, representing Tagaytay City, expressed his support for similar initiatives in his own jurisdiction, further emphasizing the importance of collaboration between local and national leaders to help uplift the lives of their constituents. The meeting reinforced the shared goal of improving the well-being of the Filipino people through public service.
As the visit concluded, Mayor Lazatin reiterated his appreciation for Senator Tolentino’s generosity and the ongoing efforts to assist those in crisis. He affirmed his commitment to working with both local and national leaders to continue providing vital services and support to the residents of Angeles City.
