On March 24, 2025, a heartwarming ceremony took place at the Angeles City Library and Information Center Amphitheater as Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. recognized 151 dedicated employees for their decades-long service to the Angeleños. The event was part of the city’s annual Loyalty Awards, which celebrates the commitment and hard work of employees who have devoted many years to public service.
The ceremony highlighted the exceptional contributions made by employees with 10 to 45 years of service. Mayor Lazatin awarded certificates of loyalty, pins, and cash incentives to honor their dedication. In his speech, the mayor expressed his gratitude, saying, “You are the foundation of our successful public service, and your dedication sets the standard for others to follow.”
For those who had served for 10 years, Mayor Lazatin presented a cash incentive of ₱10,000, while employees with every additional five years of service received ₱5,000 for each successive period. The ceremony also recognized long-serving employees, including Jaime Manlapaz and Raidis Rueda, who were celebrated for their impressive 45 years of service, and Moises De Luna for his 40 years.
Among those who reached the 35-year mark were Gilbert Basilio, Nestor Dela Cruz, Angela Dizon, and Luis Gonzales, who were all honored for their unwavering loyalty and work ethic. In total, 37 employees with 30 years of service, 25 employees with 25 years, and 20 employees with 20 years of service were also recognized for their continuous contributions to the city.
The mayor also awarded 56 employees who had served for 10 years, including staff from various city departments. Their long-term commitment and hard work play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of city services and programs.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, the City Human Resource and Management Office (CHRMO) led by Rowena Yambao, and Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA). This recognition is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to motivate its employees and promote a culture of excellence in public service.
The Loyalty Awards program, governed by the Civil Service Commission’s Revised Policies on the Grant of Loyalty Award, has been an integral part of the city’s initiative to honor the contributions of employees who have dedicated years of service to the community. It serves as a reminder of the value of dedication, hard work, and commitment to public service.
