On March 31, 2025, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, representing Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., met with City Agriculture Officer Rea Reyes and Organic Focal Person Almario Dalusung for a brief discussion at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming installment of the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita, a regular initiative of the city government.
Also present during the meeting was Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Irish Bonus-Llego. The group discussed how the monthly Kadiwa helps support local farmers, small entrepreneurs, and producers by providing them a platform to sell their goods directly to consumers.
Manuel shared that the Kadiwa program will return on April 7–8, 2025, at the Angeles City Hall grounds in celebration of Filipino Food Month. She emphasized that this initiative, consistently backed by Mayor Lazatin, reflects the administration’s commitment to helping small and local businesses thrive.
The April run of Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita will showcase a wide variety of fresh produce, organic products, and locally made goods—giving Angeleños access to affordable, healthy, and quality items while supporting the local economy.
Adding a flavorful highlight to the celebration, the Angeles City Tourism Office, headed by Anneleen Sugui, will be conducting a Sisig Cooking Demonstration during the event. This aims to honor the city’s rich culinary heritage and promote Angeles City as the home of the iconic Kapampangan dish.
Manuel expressed gratitude to the participating departments and assured the public that the city government will continue to support similar programs that benefit both producers and consumers. She also encouraged residents to take part in the celebration and buy local.
Through collaborative efforts and continued government support, the city’s monthly Kadiwa program not only uplifts the livelihood of small businesses but also fosters cultural appreciation—especially during special occasions like Filipino Food Month.
