ANGELES CITY — Representing Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel on April 10, 2025 formally received a ₱5 million cheque from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) — Angeles City Branch. The amount represents the city’s revenue share from PAGCOR for February 2025, contributing to the city’s external sources of income.
The turnover ceremony took place at the City Treasurer’s Office, with Julie Palacio, Supervising Administrative Officer for the Cash Receipt Division, joining Manuel in accepting the fund. The financial support will be used to sustain and expand various city programs aligned with Mayor Lazatin’s thrust for inclusive development and improved public services.
The cheque was handed over by PAGCOR Angeles City Finance Officer II Marietta Clarita De Guzman and A/Senior Human Resource Officer Marjorie Dela Cruz, who reiterated PAGCOR’s ongoing commitment to local development through its monthly remittances to host cities.
Mayor Lazatin, through Manuel, expressed gratitude to PAGCOR for its consistent support, noting that the city government relies on these funds to supplement key services such as health, education, and social welfare initiatives.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with national agencies to further improve the quality of life for Angeleños. The continued support from PAGCOR is seen as a critical component of the city’s external funding, especially for high-impact community projects.
With the city’s share from PAGCOR being regularly turned over, Angeles City continues to enjoy a stable stream of additional resources, which help ease the burden on internal revenues and allow for more extensive public service coverage.
The City Government under Mayor Lazatin ensures that all external funds, including those from PAGCOR, are transparently and efficiently allocated to programs that directly benefit the people of Angeles City.
