Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. spearheaded the inauguration of advanced educational infrastructures at the City College of Angeles (CCA) on April 22, 2025. This milestone marks another step in the city government’s drive to ensure that students are equipped for the evolving demands of modern education.
The newly unveiled facilities include three hybrid classrooms, two fully equipped computer laboratories, and a spacious multi-purpose hall. These additions are specifically designed to cater to both physical and virtual learning environments, enhancing students’ academic experiences and adapting to future education trends.
“These facilities are part of our ongoing mission to offer accessible, future-ready education,” Mayor Lazatin stated during the ceremony. “We are providing our students with the tools they need to thrive in a digital world—because quality education must evolve with the times.”
Mayor Lazatin was joined at the event by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and other key local officials including CCA President Dr. Frankie Villanueva, City Councilors Edu Pamintuan, JC Aguas, Jay Sangil, and Marino Bañola, as well as SK Federation President Richard Gaza Jr.
Also in attendance were several department heads and city personnel, such as City Engineer’s Office Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro and Quality Management System Officer Chrysalene Cunanan, reflecting strong interdepartmental support for the educational initiative. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort that made the project possible.
Other city officials who witnessed the inauguration included representatives from the health, environment, licensing, social welfare, and civil registry offices. The wide attendance demonstrated the city’s unified approach to uplifting education and community development.
With the inauguration of these modern facilities, the City College of Angeles is poised to deliver more effective learning opportunities. The city leadership hopes this will further encourage students to excel, while promoting digital literacy and civic engagement across the student body.
