The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) has declared a Blue Alert Status for its Emergency Operation Center, effective from 8:00 AM on December 23, 2024, until 8:00 AM on January 6, 2025, in preparation for the Yuletide season. This alert status aims to ensure heightened readiness and continuous monitoring of any potential incidents or emergencies that may arise during the holiday celebrations.
Rudy T. Simeon, Officer-in-Charge of ACDRRMO, emphasized that the Blue Alert is necessary to address the risks associated with the festivities. The department will be on high alert during this period to ensure the safety and well-being of the Angeleno community. The heightened alert will facilitate swift responses to any emergencies, particularly those that may be related to the holiday season, such as accidents, fires, and other unforeseen incidents.
The Blue Alert status is a precautionary measure that ensures all emergency response teams are prepared for any incidents and can act quickly if necessary. The ACDRRMO will monitor all areas closely to identify and address any risks promptly, preventing any potential harm to the public. Simeon called on all Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs) to remain vigilant and active during this period.
In his message, Simeon urged the BDRRMCs to continue monitoring their respective areas of responsibility and to report any emergencies immediately to the ACDRRMO. The public is also encouraged to stay alert and cooperate with local authorities to ensure a safe and joyful holiday season. The ACDRRMO has set up a continuous communication line for quick updates and emergency reports.
With the holiday season being a time for large gatherings, shopping, and travel, the city’s risk management teams are focusing on safety measures and ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place. Simeon reiterated the importance of preparedness and cooperation among both local authorities and the general public in managing any risks that could affect the community during the holidays.
The ACDRRMO also expressed its commitment to keeping Angelenos safe by maintaining close coordination with various government agencies and other emergency response teams. The goal is to create a well-organized and efficient system to respond to any unforeseen emergencies that may occur during the Yuletide season.
In closing, Simeon extended his wishes to the residents of Angeles City, urging them to enjoy the holiday season while staying mindful of safety. “Have a safe merriment, Angelenos,” he concluded, emphasizing the importance of a united effort to ensure the safety and well-being of all during this festive time of the year.
