The Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., turned over a ₱1 million cash subsidy to the Kuliat Foundation Inc. (KFI) on March 20, 2025, in support of the continued operations and long-term preservation efforts of the Museo Ning Angeles. The financial assistance aims to sustain the museum as a vital center for heritage, culture, and education in the city.
The turnover ceremony was held with the presence of key city officials including Secretary to the Mayor Rafael Lazatin Angeles and City College of Angeles (CCA) President Dr. Frankie Villanueva. The donation underscores the city’s recognition of the Museo Ning Angeles as a landmark that celebrates and protects Kapampangan identity and heritage.
Kuliat Foundation Inc., a non-stock, non-profit organization, has been at the helm of managing the museum’s daily operations. Through years of dedicated work, the foundation has upheld its mission to preserve the history, culture, and traditions of Angeles City through various programs and projects designed to benefit current and future generations of Angeleños.
Mayor Lazatin praised the foundation’s commitment to cultural preservation and expressed gratitude for their efforts. “We are fortunate to have partners like KFI, who are deeply rooted in their mission to protect and promote our Kapampangan culture. Their dedication helps keep our identity alive for future generations,” he said.
In addition to the ₱1 million subsidy, Mayor Lazatin also handed over a separate ₱10,000 financial aid to support KFI’s upcoming 2nd Lenten Exhibit. This gesture reflects the city’s active involvement not only in long-term cultural preservation but also in supporting ongoing local events and initiatives that strengthen community awareness and engagement.
Present during the turnover were KFI President Lincoln Baluyut, Adviser Carmen McTavish, Secretary Jing Torno, Treasurer Cecile Lazatin, and members of the Board of Trustees including Andrew Tiglao, Elsa Mirasol, Jericho De Guzman, Rhoda Salazar, and Tito Lazatin Angeles. Their presence emphasized the collective efforts behind the foundation’s cultural work.
Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his administration’s full support for cultural projects and committed to further promoting the Kapampangan heritage. “Layun mi na lalung salesen, pakamalan at pamagmasabal banta miprotektan at lagu ing kekatang Kulturang Kapampangan,” Lazatin said, emphasizing the city’s drive to preserve, cherish, and elevate its rich cultural identity.
