Angeles City’s Command Center has undergone significant upgrades, effectively eliminating all blind spots with the installation of additional security cameras throughout the city. The number of CCTV cameras has surged from 155 to 375, marking a substantial enhancement in surveillance capabilities. This expansion is a major step toward improving safety for residents and businesses.
The newly installed systems include 125 advanced PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, each with 8mp resolution and 36x optical zoom. These high-tech cameras have a wide dynamic range to provide clear footage even in low-light conditions. Additionally, the city now features 250 bullet cameras with 4mp resolution and a similar wide dynamic range, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Supporting these cameras is a robust fiber optic cable infrastructure, guaranteeing fast and reliable transmission of data. The installation of 16 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at key boundaries of the city, including Porac, Mabalacat City, San Fernando, and Magalang, will further enhance security by monitoring vehicles entering and leaving the area.
To ensure the smooth operation of the expanded system, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has also increased staffing at the Command Center. The number of CCTV operators has grown to 72, with 39 new hires who work in three shifts to monitor the cameras around the clock. This increased manpower will help ensure quick responses to security incidents and enhance surveillance capabilities.
The Command Center is also now equipped with high-tech computers, improving the efficiency of monitoring and data processing. In addition to these upgrades, the center features a new facial recognition security door lock system, adding a layer of protection to sensitive areas and increasing overall security.
Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to enhancing public safety is clear, as the expansion of the Command Center is part of his ongoing efforts to implement advanced technology for crime prevention. The installation of these cameras will significantly reduce crime in the city by improving monitoring and law enforcement response times.
As part of the city’s broader safety plan, Mayor Lazatin is also encouraging barangay officials and homeowners’ associations to install their own security cameras in local communities. This collective effort will further deter crime and ensure that no area of Angeles City remains unmonitored.
