On December 18, 2024, residents from Barangays Salapungan and Pulungbulu participated in a heartwarming adoption event at the Angeles City Dog Pound and Animal Shelter, where they welcomed rescued dogs and cats into their homes. Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has been vocal about his support for animal welfare and urged the community to adopt rescued pets from the City Veterinary Office. Mayor Lazatin emphasized that adopting animals helps reduce the number of stray pets and ensures they find loving homes while addressing overpopulation issues at local shelters.
The animals available for adoption had all been spayed at the Angeles City Dog Pound and Animal Shelter, a part of the city’s effort to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent uncontrolled breeding.
