ANGELES CITY – On March 7, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel conducted an inspection of the newly-built primary health care facility in Barangay Tabun. The visit was part of the city’s preparations for the upcoming inauguration of the facility, which is set to improve health care access for residents in the area.
The construction of new health centers is part of a larger initiative by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. to enhance the city’s health infrastructure. With the completion of this new facility in Barangay Tabun, the city is closer to achieving its goal of providing quality health services throughout Angeles City.
In addition to Barangay Tabun, Mayor Lazatin has spearheaded the establishment of new health centers in several other barangays, including Pulungbulu, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, Malabanias, and Balibago. This expansion of primary health care facilities aims to ensure that health services are within reach for all residents, no matter where they live.
Mayor Lazatin’s initiative underscores the importance of accessible healthcare for the people of Angeles City. With these new centers, residents will benefit from more convenient access to essential medical services, reducing the need to travel long distances for care. This project is expected to alleviate pressure on existing health facilities and provide a more efficient system of care.
City officials, including Calaguas and Manuel, emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing the health and well-being of the city’s growing population. By decentralizing health services, the city is ensuring that even remote barangays have the resources they need to provide medical care to their communities.
The construction of these health care centers is also seen as a response to the increasing demand for medical services in the city. The new facilities will provide basic health services, such as check-ups, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses, significantly improving healthcare availability and quality in underserved areas.
With this ongoing project, Mayor Lazatin and the Angeles City government are demonstrating their commitment to improving the overall health care system and ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to access to essential medical services. The city’s expansion of primary health care centers is a vital step in building a healthier and more resilient community.
