On January 17, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. inspected the completed repairs at the primary health care unit in Barangay Tabun. The inspection is part of the city government’s preparations for the opening of nine additional health facilities across various barangays. The expansion of these healthcare services aims to address the city’s growing population and enhance access to medical care for all Angeleños.
“We are expanding the number of health units in our city to match our growing population, as the city government aims to provide more accessible health services to Angeleños,” Mayor Lazatin said. The initiative reflects the city’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that essential health services are within reach for residents in all parts of Angeles City.
The mayor assigned Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel to oversee the repairs and improvements of these nine additional primary health care units. The focus is on upgrading and modernizing health centers across the city to better serve the community’s health needs and ensure that each unit meets the standards for providing comprehensive health services.
Aside from the primary health care unit in Barangay Tabun, health centers in several other barangays, including Pulungbulu, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, Malabanias, and Balibago, have also undergone significant facelifts and repairs. These renovations are part of the city’s effort to elevate the existing facilities into fully functional primary health care units that will cater to the medical needs of more residents.
The improvement of these health centers is in line with the city’s long-term vision of improving healthcare access for everyone. By expanding the reach of primary health care services, the city government hopes to ease the pressure on larger hospitals and provide immediate care for basic medical needs, preventing unnecessary overcrowding and ensuring timely medical attention.
With the opening of these upgraded health centers, residents of Angeles City will benefit from improved health services, including preventive care, vaccinations, and treatment for common illnesses. The expansion is also expected to reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances for basic medical services, providing more convenience and accessibility.
Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to strengthening the city’s healthcare system through these improvements reflects his administration’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the health and well-being of Angeleños. With these developments, the city is taking a significant step toward creating a healthier and more resilient community.
