ANGELES CITY – On March 7, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel visited the newly-constructed primary health care facility in Barangay Cutud. The visit marked an important milestone in the city’s initiative to expand health services for its residents.
Joining Calaguas and Manuel during the visit were several key city officials, including City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo, Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, and Angeles City Tourism Officer Anneleen Sugui. Together, they inspected the new facility and discussed its significance in improving public health access.
The newly completed health care center is part of a broader effort by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. to enhance the city’s health infrastructure. Under this initiative, the Mayor has spearheaded the construction of nine additional primary health care units across various barangays, including Pulungbulu, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, Malabanias, Tabun, and Balibago.
With these nine new facilities, the total number of primary health care units in the city has now increased to 15. This expansion aims to provide more accessible and efficient health services to the growing population of Angeles City, ensuring that residents have a convenient point of care closer to their homes.
Mayor Lazatin’s initiative also emphasizes the importance of decentralized health care, ensuring that all communities have access to essential medical services. The newly constructed facilities will offer basic health services, which will help ease the burden on existing health centers and improve the overall well-being of residents.
City officials highlighted the role of these new health care units in promoting public health, especially in underserved areas. With a greater number of facilities available, the city can ensure timely medical attention, reduce overcrowding in larger hospitals, and improve the quality of healthcare services for its residents.
This expansion of primary health care facilities reflects the city’s commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of its citizens. As the new units open across the city, the goal is to provide a more accessible, efficient, and comprehensive health care system for all residents of Angeles City.
