On January 25, 2025, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. instructed the Angeles City Barangay Outreach team to carry out fumigation at Gov. Rafael Lazatin Integrated School as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to combat dengue. This operation is a key part of the city’s proactive measures against mosquito-borne diseases, aimed at ensuring a safe environment for students and faculty.
The fumigation is being carried out in accordance with the city’s 4S strategy—search and destroy mosquito breeding grounds, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, and say yes to fogging when needed. This comprehensive approach is intended to reduce the risk of dengue outbreaks in schools and protect the health of the community.
Supervising the fumigation effort is Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who is coordinating with Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) Chief Irish Bonus-Llego. Their leadership ensures that the fumigation is conducted effectively to help safeguard the well-being of the school community at Gov. Rafael Lazatin Integrated School.
This fumigation activity comes as part of the city’s broader initiative to address the increasing concerns over dengue, particularly during the rainy season when mosquito populations tend to rise. By taking preventive action through fumigation, the city aims to stop the spread of the disease before it can affect the school.
In addition to the fumigation at Gov. Rafael Lazatin Integrated School, the Angeles City Government has plans to extend similar fumigation efforts to other public schools across the city. The goal is to cover as many schools as possible, ensuring the safety of students and staff throughout the local educational system.
The fumigation activities are part of Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment in public schools. These measures will help ensure that students can learn and thrive in a safe setting, free from the risks posed by mosquito-borne illnesses like dengue.
As fumigation operations continue across various schools, the Angeles City Government is urging residents and school communities to support dengue prevention efforts by keeping their surroundings clean and adhering to the health protocols. With coordinated actions, the city aims to effectively reduce the threat of dengue and promote the health and safety of its residents.
