On January 25, 2025, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. directed the Angeles City Barangay Outreach team to carry out fumigation at Northville 15 Integrated School as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to combat dengue. The fumigation is part of a broader strategy to ensure the safety of students and faculty by eliminating potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
The fumigation is being conducted in line with the city’s 4S strategy—search and destroy, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, and say yes to fogging in case of outbreaks. This comprehensive approach is designed to reduce the risk of dengue and protect the health of residents, especially the students and staff at Northville 15 Integrated School.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel is overseeing the fumigation operation, with the support of Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) Chief Irish Bonus-Llego. Together, they are ensuring the fumigation process is carried out efficiently and thoroughly, with the goal of keeping the school environment safe from mosquito-borne diseases.
The city’s proactive measures are critical as dengue cases can increase during the rainy season, making it essential for local government units to take swift action. Mayor Lazatin’s instructions emphasize the city’s commitment to protecting the health of its residents, particularly in public schools where students are more susceptible to illnesses.
In addition to the fumigation at Northville 15 Integrated School, the city government has plans to extend its fumigation efforts to other public schools throughout Angeles City. By covering multiple schools, the city aims to create a safer environment for students across the city, reducing the chances of a dengue outbreak.
The fumigation activities are also part of an ongoing health and sanitation initiative spearheaded by the local government. The 4S strategy, which emphasizes community involvement and preventive measures, continues to be a key part of the city’s approach to public health.
As the fumigation operations continue in other schools, the Angeles City Government remains focused on maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all its residents. With the city’s vigilance and coordinated efforts, the local government is determined to curb the spread of dengue and ensure the well-being of the community.
