ANGELES CITY – The city government of Angeles has been recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the High Performing Peace and Order Council (POC) in Central Luzon for 2023. This distinction highlights the efforts of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.’s administration in ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his gratitude to the DILG for the prestigious recognition, emphasizing that it is a testament to the collective work of the Angeles City Police Office, barangay officials, and key city government departments. The DILG’s POC Performance Audit evaluates councils based on several factors, including organization, meetings, policies, plans, budget management, general supervision, and innovation. The city’s accomplishment follows its consecutive recognition with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) in previous years, cementing its reputation for excellence in public service and governance.
