The City Government of Angeles, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., recently conducted a successful test run of its new Emergency Response App, designed to improve emergency response times and ensure more efficient assistance during critical situations. The trial, which took place in the city, was aimed at evaluating the app’s functionality and readiness for real-life emergency scenarios. During the test, responders arrived at a simulated pedestrian accident in an impressive 5 minutes and 27 seconds, showcasing the app’s potential to enhance emergency operations.
The app is designed to streamline the emergency response process by guiding users through essential steps, such as registering both users and responders. It also features an integrated system for dispatching responders from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) directly to the scene. This structured system ensures that the right help is deployed as quickly as possible, improving response efficiency during emergencies.
A key feature of the new app is its location-sharing capability, allowing users to send their exact location to responders. This feature eliminates delays in locating the scene of an incident, particularly in unfamiliar or hard-to-find areas. By ensuring that responders have accurate, real-time location data, the app helps to further reduce response times and increase the likelihood of a positive outcome.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the importance of the app in improving disaster preparedness and response times, stating that every second matters in an emergency. “Every minute counts when it comes to saving lives,” Mayor Lazatin remarked. His administration has made it a top priority to minimize emergency response times in order to protect the safety and well-being of Angeleños, especially during unforeseen accidents and disasters.
The city government is actively encouraging residents of Angeles City to download and familiarize themselves with the app. By doing so, Angeleños can ensure they are prepared to act quickly in emergencies, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the city’s response efforts. The app is expected to become an invaluable tool for residents, emergency responders, and local authorities alike.
In addition to the new app, the city has been working on various initiatives to enhance disaster response capabilities and ensure the safety of its residents. With the increasing frequency of natural disasters and emergencies, the city aims to stay ahead of the curve by adopting modern technology that can save lives and minimize damage during critical situations.
As the test run was deemed a success, the city is now preparing for the official launch of the Emergency Response App. With this new system in place, the city is taking a proactive step toward ensuring that Angeleños have the tools and resources they need to stay safe, informed, and prepared in times of crisis.
