The City Government of Angeles, in collaboration with the Philippine National Police – Regional Office 3, is set to conduct a License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) Caravan on January 6, 2025. This event aims to provide relevant personnel from the Angeles City Local Government Unit, elected officials, and local gun owners with the opportunity to apply for or renew their firearm licenses.
The LTOPF Caravan will take place at the Liga ng mga Barangay starting at 9:00 a.m. and will be open to all qualified gun owners who are residents of Angeles City. The event is designed to make the application process for firearm licenses more accessible to city residents and government officials who are required to own firearms legally.
City officials are encouraging gun owners to participate in the caravan to ensure that they are compliant with existing firearms regulations. The caravan will facilitate the submission of the necessary documents, biometrics, and other requirements needed to secure or renew the License to Own and Possess Firearms.
As part of the event, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will assist in verifying the qualifications of applicants, processing their documents, and issuing the appropriate licenses. This is an important step in ensuring the responsible ownership of firearms in the city, in line with national safety and security standards.
The caravan also aims to address concerns regarding illegal firearms in the community, by providing a legal avenue for residents to properly register their firearms. By encouraging proper documentation, the city hopes to promote a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of regulating firearm ownership to ensure public safety. “This caravan is part of our efforts to ensure that firearms in the city are owned legally and responsibly,” said Lazatin.
With the successful implementation of this caravan, the city expects to increase compliance with firearm ownership laws and enhance the safety of its residents. The LTOPF Caravan is part of the city’s broader initiative to maintain peace and order in the community.
Summary: Angeles City, in partnership with the PNP, will hold an LTOPF Caravan on January 6, 2025, to assist local government personnel, elected officials, and residents in securing or renewing their firearm licenses. The event aims to promote responsible gun ownership and enhance public safety.
