In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Angeles City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., is offering free health services to women on March 6, 2025. The event will include free pap smear tests, breast examinations, and HIV testing. This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to promoting women’s health and well-being throughout the community.
The medical services will be conducted by teams from the Gender and Development Office, headed by Mina Cabiles, and the City Health Office, led by Dr. Verona Guevarra. The teams will visit the six Rural Health Units (RHUs) located throughout Angeles City to ensure easy access for all residents. The program aims to reach as many women as possible to encourage regular health screenings and early detection of potential health issues.
Women from Barangay Sto. Domingo, San Jose, San Nicolas, Lourdes Sur, Sto. Rosario, and Pulungbulu can avail of the services at RHU I, which is located at Marcos Street in Barangay Sto. Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, residents of Barangay Cutcut, Lourdes Northwest, Pampang, Cuayan, Sta. Trinidad, and Anunas can go to RHU II at Kalayaan Street, Barangay Lourdes Northwest for the same services.
For women living in Barangay Lourdes Sur East, Agapito Del Rosario, Claro M. Recto, Malabanias, Virgen Delos Remedios, and Sta. Teresita, RHU III is available at Fajardo Street in Barangay Lourdes Sur East. Additionally, those from Barangay Balibago, Margot, Sapangbato, and Amsic may visit RHU IV, located at Dona Rosario Street in Barangay Balibago, to access the free health services.
Women residing in Barangay Pandan, Capaya, Mining, Tabun, Sto. Cristo, Ninoy Aquino, and Salapungan can go to RHU V, which is located in San Ignacio Subdivision, Barangay Pandan. Lastly, residents of Barangay Pulung Cacutud, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, and surrounding areas are encouraged to visit RHU VI at EPZA Center, Barangay Pulung Cacutud for their health check-ups.
Women interested in receiving the free services can enroll at their designated RHUs. However, only the first 100 women in each RHU will be accommodated, so early arrival is recommended. This initiative is a proactive approach by the city government to encourage women to prioritize their health and ensure they have access to essential medical care.
The free medical services offered on March 6 reflect the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health and wellness of women in Angeles City, empowering them to take charge of their well-being during National Women’s Month and beyond.
