On January 30, 2025, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, under the directive of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., visited the primary health care unit in Barangay Pulung Maragul as the city government began major repairs and renovations at the facility. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the health center, a project aimed at improving medical services for local residents.
The delegation included several key city officials, such as Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Irish Bonus-Llego, City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, Angelo Tayag of CEO, Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles, City Health Assistant Officer Dr. Cristine Joy Patio, and General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo. Together, they inspected the progress of the renovations, which are intended to transform the facility into a fully functioning Rural Health Unit (RHU).
The health center’s renovation is part of a broader initiative by Mayor Lazatin to enhance healthcare accessibility for the people of Angeles City. This upgrade, which transforms the former sub-health center into an RHU, is expected to provide more comprehensive medical services to residents, ensuring better healthcare access for the community.
Mayor Lazatin has long prioritized improving healthcare infrastructure in the city, recognizing that accessible and quality medical care is essential for the well-being of his constituents. The Pulung Maragul health center renovation is one of the key projects in his administration’s efforts to strengthen the local healthcare system.
During the inspection, officials discussed the plans for the facility’s improvements, which include modernizing medical equipment, expanding patient care areas, and improving overall infrastructure to accommodate a larger number of patients. These upgrades will help ensure that residents receive timely and efficient care in a comfortable environment.
Once completed, the renovated Rural Health Unit will not only serve the residents of Pulung Maragul but also those from neighboring barangays, further enhancing the city’s healthcare network. The city government hopes the project will significantly improve health outcomes by providing accessible services in the heart of the community.
The upgrade of the Pulung Maragul health center is just one example of Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to improving public services in Angeles City. As the project moves forward, city officials are confident that it will play a crucial role in advancing the health and welfare of the city’s residents.
