The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., is collaborating with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to celebrate the creative spirit of the Filipino people during National Arts Month 2024.
Under the direction of Aneleen Antonio-Sugui, who heads the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) and is overseen by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, a series of activities has been organized to support and nurture the artistic talents of the residents of Angeles City during this month-long celebration.
With the theme “Pupul Ning Kalalangan”, the Angeles City government aims to acknowledge and honor the artistic contributions made by local AngeleΓ±o artists, recognizing them as invaluable assets to the development of Angeles City.
Mayor Lazatin’s primary focus is to create platforms and opportunities for AngeleΓ±o artists to showcase their creative works to the public, both within and beyond Angeles City. National Arts Month, also known as ‘Ani ng Sining,’ was initiated in 1991 following Presidential Proclamation 683, designating February as National Arts Month.
