Angeles University Foundation (AUF) reached an important milestone on December 4, 2024, with the grand inauguration of the Emmanuel Y. Angeles Center for Learning and Innovation (EYACLI). This new facility, named in honor of University Chancellor Emeritus Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles, coincided with the 117th birth anniversary of AUF Founder Dr. Barbara Y. Angeles, celebrating their significant contributions to the institution’s growth and academic distinction.
The inauguration was attended by former Philippine President and AUF Board of Trustees Chairperson, Hon. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, alongside university officials, faculty members, alumni, and students. Their presence underscored the widespread recognition and respect for the two influential figures who have shaped AUF’s commitment to quality education and service.
The event featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for AUF, followed by a solemn blessing conducted by Archbishop Emeritus Most Rev. Paciano B. Aniceto, D.D. The gathering included prominent AUF Board of Trustees members, the Angeles family, university officials, faculty, staff, and student leaders, all sharing in the pride and excitement of the moment.
The EYACLI is set to be a vibrant hub for research, learning, and collaboration, reinforcing AUF’s dedication to progressive education and community engagement. It will house five of AUF’s academic units: the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Computer Studies, College of Education, and College of Engineering and Architecture. This strategic integration will enhance the interdepartmental cooperation and academic excellence the university aims to foster.
Designed with modern research laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, and comprehensive digital resource centers, the EYACLI is built to meet the needs of 21st-century education. The center’s facilities are expected to support a wide range of educational activities, encourage interdisciplinary partnerships, and promote innovative thinking among students and faculty alike.
With the opening of the Emmanuel Y. Angeles Center for Learning and Innovation, AUF continues to uphold its mission of developing future leaders who will contribute positively to society. The new center is a tribute to Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles and Dr. Barbara Y. Angeles’ dedication to advancing education, echoing their vision of nurturing intellectual and professional growth that benefits the nation.
As AUF celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to producing well-rounded and competent individuals. The EYACLI symbolizes the university’s forward-thinking approach, ensuring that its students are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
