On April 3, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. extended a warm welcome to the members of the Barangay Council of P.F. Espiritu 4 from Bacoor City, Cavite, during their official visit to the Mayor’s Office. The group, led by Punong Barangay Jordean Zyvon Bautista, was accompanied by City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Nilda Quito, who facilitated the meeting and offered insights into the city’s urban planning and development strategies.
The visit was part of the council’s Lakbay Aral program, a learning tour designed to enhance the social services delivery in their own barangay. The P.F. Espiritu 4 officials were keen to study how Angeles City has successfully implemented various community-focused services, particularly in urban planning, social welfare, and public administration.
Mayor Lazatin, during the meeting, shared the city’s initiatives to improve the lives of its residents, focusing on the importance of efficient governance and community-oriented services. He emphasized how the city’s robust systems for social services, including health, education, and public safety, play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of its residents.
The visit also highlighted the cooperative nature of local government units (LGUs), as the delegation from Bacoor City sought to learn from Angeles City’s experiences. Mayor Lazatin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to share the city’s strategies and approaches that have contributed to its growth and success in governance.
In addition to the discussion, the Barangay Council of P.F. Espiritu 4 is scheduled to conduct their Lakbay Aral tour in Barangay Balibago, another area in Angeles City known for its effective social services. The goal is to observe and learn from the practices that have made the area a model for community development.
The exchange of knowledge between the two LGUs is a testament to the growing culture of collaboration and mutual learning among local government units. Mayor Lazatin reiterated the importance of sharing best practices to continually improve the delivery of services at the grassroots level.
The visit concluded with an understanding that mutual cooperation and knowledge exchange between different local governments play a vital role in fostering progress and development, especially in areas related to social services and community welfare. Both the Angeles City government and the Barangay Council of P.F. Espiritu 4 look forward to future collaborations that will further enhance public service delivery.
