In a groundbreaking development for Central Luzon, Belen Homesite Elementary School is set to become the first fully solar-powered public school in the region. Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. will officially inaugurate the school’s solar-powered system later this morning, marking a significant milestone in the integration of renewable energy into public education.
The school’s new solar power system is capable of producing 32 kilowatts of electricity, which is more than sufficient to meet the energy needs of the school. A total of 54 solar panels have been installed on the campus, providing sustainable energy to seven fully air-conditioned classrooms, a notable upgrade for the facility.
Each classroom in the school is equipped with two new horsepower air conditioning units, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for students. In addition, the classrooms have been outfitted with brand-new television sets for educational purposes, as well as fresh renovations that include new paint, tiles, and fixtures, giving the entire building a modern and clean appearance.
The introduction of solar power to the school is part of the city’s commitment to sustainability and improving the quality of education for its students. The project highlights a strong step toward reducing the school’s carbon footprint while providing a state-of-the-art learning environment. Mayor Lazatin expressed his excitement about the project, stating that it represents the city’s ongoing efforts to incorporate eco-friendly and innovative solutions into public services.
The new solar-powered setup not only supports the school’s energy needs but also serves as an educational tool, teaching students about renewable energy and the importance of sustainability. The project is expected to serve as a model for other schools in the region, showing how renewable energy can be effectively used in public infrastructure.
This initiative also marks a significant achievement in the city’s efforts to address the challenges of climate change while enhancing educational facilities. By investing in green energy, Belen Homesite Elementary School sets an example of how communities can use technology and renewable resources to create a better future for the next generation.
With this opening, Belen Homesite Elementary School becomes a shining example of how innovation can be harnessed to improve the educational experience and promote environmental sustainability. The solar-powered school is poised to inspire other institutions across Central Luzon to consider adopting similar technologies in the future.
