ANGELES CITY — In a pioneering move to make the voting experience more accessible and comfortable, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted a Mall Voting Assembly and Caravan in Barangay Balibago to raise awareness and promote Pampanga’s first-ever Mall Voting initiative.
Held in partnership with Robinsons Angeles, the event marked a significant step forward in modernizing and streamlining the voting process for residents. The caravan drew participation from local officials, community members, and stakeholders committed to ensuring a successful implementation of the Mall Voting project in time for the May 2025 National and Local Elections.
COMELEC officials highlighted the benefits of mall voting, including improved accessibility, comfort for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and reduced congestion in traditional polling precincts. Voters assigned to Robinsons Angeles as their official polling place will experience a more convenient, organized, and secure voting environment.
“We’re excited to bring this innovation to Angeles City,” a COMELEC representative shared. “With the help of Barangay Balibago and the full support of Robinsons Angeles, we’re setting the groundwork for a more efficient and voter-friendly election.”
During the assembly, residents had the opportunity to learn more about how mall voting works, who qualifies, and what to expect on election day. COMELEC also distributed flyers and Voter Information Sheets (VIS) to help inform the public.
The event was not only informative but also festive, as participants celebrated this milestone in electoral modernization with a caravan around the barangay. Local leaders expressed appreciation to COMELEC for selecting Angeles City as a pilot area, calling it a “vote of confidence” in the city’s readiness and innovation.
COMELEC continues to encourage the public to verify their polling center assignment, especially for those affected by the shift to mall voting. For more updates and official announcements, residents are advised to follow COMELEC’s verified pages and local advisories.
