ANGELES CITY — The city’s Kapebaluan café and One Town, One Product (OTOP) stalls achieved a combined sales total of P22,400 during the two-day Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan (TTKD) festival. The event, held in celebration of the city’s vibrant culture and local products, saw strong patronage for both businesses, highlighting the support for homegrown entrepreneurs.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the local community, saying, “We thank everyone who supported our local entrepreneurs at TTKD. Providing platforms like this helps sustain the growth of our homegrown products.” He emphasized the importance of such events in boosting the local economy and fostering the success of small businesses.
“We are very happy; this development reflects the strong support of Angeles City residents and visitors for our community-based businesses,” Lazatin added, praising the collaboration between the city government and local entrepreneurs. The TTKD festival proved to be a successful avenue for promoting local businesses to a broader audience.
Kapebaluan, known for offering coffee made from locally sourced Angeleño beans, showcased a variety of brews that captivated the taste buds of TTKD attendees. The café’s offerings have become a staple for coffee lovers in the region, reflecting the city’s commitment to promoting its agricultural products.
Meanwhile, the OTOP stall displayed handicrafts from local artisans, reflecting Angeles City’s rich cultural heritage. The diverse range of handcrafted goods, including home décor, textiles, and other local creations, garnered admiration from visitors who appreciated the artistry and authenticity behind each product.
Irish Bonus-Llego, head of the Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office, which oversees both stalls, shared that TTKD-goers were delighted by the offerings. She noted that the variety of drinks at Kapebaluan and the quality of OTOP’s handicrafts were particularly well-received, showing that local products could compete on a larger stage.
Both Kapebaluan and OTOP serve as important livelihood initiatives supported by the Angeles City government. Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel supervise the operations, which aim to assist local farmers and micro-entrepreneurs by providing them a platform to showcase their products. The success of these initiatives reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to support the growth of small-scale enterprises and empower the community.
