The purpose of MakeAngelesCityGreat is for us residents of Angeles City (and the surrounding area) to work together to improve our city.

Angeles City is a thriving metropolis located 100 km (60 miles) north of Manila.  We have:

1) A large diverse international community consisting of Koreans, Americans, Australians, Germans, Chinese, and just about every nationality from every continent.

2) Several nationally acclaimed universities. Among them are Holy Angel University (HAU) and Angeles University Foundation (AUF).

2) A large international airport (Clark) which is serviced by many large international airlines.  This airport services Manila as a secondary airport and is frequently referred to as Metro Manila by many of the airlines that fly to Clark.

3) A Freeport zone for oversea companies to set up “shop” in the Philippines.

4) A substantial 24/7 entertainment area where the “lights never turn off”.

5) Many first rate golf courses.

6) Several first rate shopping malls (SM Clark Mall, Marquee Mall, SM Telabastagan Mall).

7) Many Casinos.

8) The worlds largest waterpark – Aqua Planet.

Unfortunately, there are many smart young children who are not able to be part of the renaissance of Angeles City because their families are not able to afford to send them to school.

The reasons are usually because their families do not have the money to afford to send their children to school. Education in the Philippines is free up grade 12. However, children have to pay for their:

1) Transportation to and from school.

2) School uniforms.

3) School supplies such as pencils, pens, paper, and books.

4) School projects.

5) Lunch during school days.

Because of these nominal expenses, many kids drop out of school. Many of them leave school as early as grade 6 and 7, when they are only 11 or 12 years old.
