On December 12, 2024, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. joined the Year-End Thanksgiving and Fellowship Night hosted by the Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO) at Tuscany Place in Barangay Pandan. The event, which celebrated the hard work and dedication of the city’s traffic enforcers, was attended by various officials and staff, including ACTDO head Francis Pangilinan and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who accompanied the mayor.
Mayor Lazatin took the opportunity to commend the efforts of all traffic enforcers in maintaining traffic order across the city, acknowledging their tireless work despite challenging weather conditions. He expressed his gratitude for their commitment, whether under the sweltering heat or rainy weather. The mayor highlighted that their contributions are vital in ensuring a safe and efficient traffic system for the residents of Angeles City.
As part of the recognition, Mayor Lazatin shared that 125 traffic enforcers would now receive a higher daily wage of P600, an increase that reflects the city’s appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice in performing their duties. This pay adjustment was part of the mayor’s ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of public service workers.
“Umuran man o umaraw nandyan po ang ating mga traffic enforcers upang gampanan ang kanilang mga tungkulin, kaya ang taas sa sahod na ito ay karapat-dapat lang sa kanilang mga sakripisyo,” Mayor Lazatin said, emphasizing that the pay raise was a well-deserved reward for the enforcers’ hard work in ensuring smooth traffic operations, regardless of weather conditions.
The event also provided a moment for the traffic enforcers to bond with their fellow officers and city leaders. It served as a testament to the strong sense of community and teamwork that has helped make the city’s traffic management more effective and efficient.
Francis Pangilinan, head of ACTDO, expressed his gratitude to the mayor for his unwavering support for the department. He assured the mayor that the traffic enforcers would continue to carry out their duties with excellence and dedication, striving to maintain peace and order on the roads.
This fellowship night and the pay raise announcement underline the city government’s commitment to supporting its frontliners, especially those working tirelessly to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of residents in Angeles City. The event was a fitting end to the year, celebrating the achievements and contributions of the city’s traffic enforcers.
