ANGELES CITY – On February 24, 2025, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. met with officials from the National Housing Authority (NHA) Region III to discuss the relocation plans for 282 displaced families in Barangay Margot. The meeting focused on the steps being taken to ensure the safe and smooth transition of the families to a new area in Barangay Sapangbato.
Accompanying Mayor Lazatin during the discussion was City Councilor Atty. Arvin Suller, who also expressed support for the relocation efforts. Together, they collaborated with the NHA to address the logistics and plans for the families who have been affected by displacement. The relocation is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to provide stable and safe housing for its residents.
The 282 families, who have been living in difficult conditions in Barangay Margot, will soon be moved to a new, more secure location in Barangay Sapangbato. The move is designed to provide these families with better living conditions, as the new area will be equipped with the necessary infrastructure and facilities to support their needs.
The National Housing Authority will fund the construction of the new housing units in Barangay Sapangbato, ensuring that the families will have access to decent and affordable homes. This is a significant step toward addressing housing issues in the city and ensuring that displaced residents are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a more stable environment.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted the importance of collaboration between the local government and the NHA in addressing the housing needs of displaced families. “This relocation is an important initiative to ensure the well-being of our residents. We are working closely with NHA to ensure that these families are provided with safe, dignified housing,” he said.
Councilor Suller also underscored the significance of the project, emphasizing the city’s commitment to providing better living conditions for Angeleños. “We are happy to see this project moving forward and are dedicated to ensuring that the relocation process goes smoothly for the affected families,” he stated.
This relocation plan is part of the city’s broader effort to address housing challenges and improve the quality of life for its residents. With the support of the NHA and the local government, the families will soon have a new place to call home, free from the hardships they faced in their previous living conditions.
