On February 12, 2025, a total of 127 differently-abled residents from Barangay Balibago received P1,000 cash assistance and five kilos of rice each, through a house-to-house visit organized by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. This distribution is part of the city’s ongoing initiative to support persons with disabilities (PWDs), ensuring they receive the necessary financial and food assistance.
The distribution effort was led by Ryan David, head of the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), who worked closely with Mayor Lazatin and other local officials to facilitate the aid. The collaborative effort between the mayor’s office and PDAO helped ensure that the beneficiaries received the aid in a timely and organized manner.
According to Ryan David, this is not the first instance of Mayor Lazatin providing financial assistance to the PWD sector. Mayor Lazatin has consistently made it a priority to ensure the well-being of differently-abled individuals throughout the city, providing aid to help improve their quality of life.
Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities, stating that it has been one of his administration’s key priorities. His leadership reflects a genuine concern for the differently-abled community, and the ongoing support reflects his dedication to improving their living conditions and overall well-being.
This initiative is part of a larger citywide program, where a total of 2,500 differently-abled Angeleños are set to receive P1,000 in financial assistance and five kilos of rice each. The distribution aims to provide much-needed support to PWDs, helping them manage their daily expenses and access basic food resources.
The financial and rice assistance aims to ease the burden on many differently-abled individuals who often face financial hardships due to their disabilities. The program ensures that they receive essential support to meet their daily needs without additional stress.
Mayor Lazatin’s continuous efforts in serving the PWD community highlight the city’s commitment to inclusivity. Through this distribution program, the mayor ensures that Angeleños with disabilities are not overlooked, and their well-being remains a central focus in the city’s development plans.
