On February 11, 2025, 27 differently-abled individuals from Barangay Agapito Del Rosario were recipients of financial assistance and rice subsidies as part of a continuing program led by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. The mayor personally visited their homes to distribute P1,000 in cash and five kilos of rice to each beneficiary.
Accompanying Mayor Lazatin during the distribution was the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), headed by Ryan David, who has been instrumental in supporting the welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the city. David praised the initiative and reiterated that this is not the first time Mayor Lazatin has extended such assistance to the sector.
Mayor Lazatin has consistently prioritized the welfare of PWDs in Angeles City. The mayor expressed his commitment to ensuring that those with disabilities are supported and provided with the resources they need to live better lives. The cash aid and rice subsidy are part of his ongoing efforts to assist those in need, especially the vulnerable sector.
This distribution is part of a larger initiative to help a total of 2,500 differently-abled residents of Angeles City. Each recipient will receive the same amount: P1,000 in cash and five kilos of rice. This program aims to alleviate the challenges faced by PWDs, especially with rising living costs.
The distribution was done through house-to-house visits, ensuring that the assistance reached the beneficiaries directly in their homes. This approach was specifically chosen to cater to individuals who may have difficulty traveling to a central location, making the process more convenient and accessible for all.
Ryan David, head of PDAO, emphasized that the city government’s commitment to supporting PWDs is unwavering. He also thanked Mayor Lazatin for his continuous dedication to making Angeles City an inclusive and supportive environment for people with disabilities.
In conclusion, Mayor Lazatin assured the public that the city government would continue to provide support to PWDs and other marginalized sectors. The mayor remains focused on improving the lives of all Angeleños, ensuring that no one is left behind.
