On February 19, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. had a brief meeting with Environmental Management System Head Kiko Pangilinan at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room to discuss the ongoing clearing operations at the site of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program in Barangay Mining. The meeting focused on updates regarding the preparations for the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of the 4PH housing project.
During the meeting, Mayor Lazatin inquired about the progress of the clearing efforts at the designated location for the 4PH project. The program, which aims to provide affordable housing to qualified beneficiaries, is one of the significant projects under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The project in Barangay Mining is expected to provide much-needed housing for residents in the area.
Also present during the discussion were Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin Angeles, and ACDRRMO Chief Rudy Simeon. The meeting served as an opportunity for the city’s officials to coordinate and ensure that all preparations are on track for the February 27, 2025, groundbreaking ceremony.
The clearing operation at the site of the 4PH project is a critical step in ensuring that the location is ready for construction. Mayor Lazatin had previously instructed Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel to conduct an ocular inspection of the area on February 18, 2025, to assess the status and readiness of the site for the upcoming event.
The 4PH Program is a key initiative that will bring about substantial improvements to housing conditions in Angeles City. The project aims to construct 10 six-story buildings to accommodate qualified beneficiaries, providing them with quality homes that are both affordable and accessible.
In addition to providing housing, the 4PH project also aligns with the city’s broader vision of fostering community development and improving the quality of life for Angeleños. Mayor Lazatin has emphasized that the project is part of his administration’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of the city’s residents.
In conclusion, the coordination between local officials is essential to the success of the 4PH housing program in Barangay Mining. With the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for February 27, the city government continues to work closely with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to ensure the smooth implementation of this landmark project.
