On November 21, 2024, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. welcomed a group of students from Lavertice School during their educational tour at the Mayor’s Office. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to learn about local governance and the functions of various city offices. Mayor Lazatin was joined by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rudy Simeon, and Quality Management System Representative Chrysalene Cunanan, who all played key roles in guiding the students throughout their visit.
During the tour, the students were given an insightful overview of the city’s operations. They had the chance to interact with various city officials and gain a better understanding of how the local government functions to serve the public. The visit aimed to inspire the students and help them appreciate the importance of civic engagement and public service.
The group also visited several key departments in the city hall, including the Business Permit and Licensing Division, the City Accounting Office, the City Budget Office, the City Assessor’s Office, the City Planning and Development Office, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office. These offices play critical roles in ensuring the smooth operation of the city, and the students were introduced to their various functions and responsibilities.
The tour was designed to provide students with a comprehensive look at the inner workings of the local government, as well as the vital services that these offices offer to the public. By visiting these departments, the students were able to witness firsthand the commitment of the city’s officials to maintaining efficient and effective services for the people of Angeles City.
