On January 7, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. conducted an inspection of the new Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) building, overseeing the progress of its Phase 2 construction. The mayor was joined by RLMMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Froilan Canlas and City Engineer’s Officer-in-Charge Helen Ayro, who provided updates on the development and plans for the hospital’s expansion.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing work and reiterated the importance of the RLMMC project for the city’s healthcare infrastructure. He emphasized that the completion of Phase 2 would play a critical role in addressing the growing healthcare needs of the city’s residents.
Phase 2 of the RLMMC construction focuses on the completion of the 5th to 7th floors of the hospital’s annex building. Once completed, these additional floors will significantly expand the hospital’s capacity to accommodate more patients and provide high-quality medical care. This expansion is expected to improve the hospital’s ability to manage both routine and emergency medical cases, alleviating the pressure on the current facilities.
Dr. Canlas also highlighted the hospital’s commitment to providing excellent healthcare services. He stated that the additional space would allow RLMMC to offer a wider range of medical services and modern facilities, ensuring better healthcare access for the growing population of Angeles City.
City Engineer Ayro provided a detailed overview of the construction progress, noting that the project is on track and progressing according to schedule. The development team is working hard to meet the set deadlines and deliver the additional floors as planned, which will have a direct positive impact on the hospital’s operations.
Mayor Lazatin reassured the public that the expansion of RLMMC aligns with his administration’s goal to improve healthcare services in Angeles City. He stressed that the additional floors will be crucial in handling more patients and providing faster, more efficient care, particularly during peak times and emergencies.
As the inspection concluded, Mayor Lazatin reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the healthcare sector in Angeles City. The Phase 2 expansion of RLMMC is a key component of his ongoing efforts to improve public health infrastructure and ensure that residents have access to top-tier medical facilities and services.
