On March 5, 2025, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. presided over the First Quarter Local Housing Board Meeting held at the Liga ng mga Barangay. The meeting, which focused on the city’s housing development initiatives, was attended by key officials, including Angeles City Human Settlements and Urban Development Office (ACHSUDO) Deputy Rowel Nava.
The session brought together representatives from various city offices, including the City Planning and Development Office, the City Assessor’s Office, and the Angeles City Police Office. Together, they discussed ongoing and upcoming housing projects aimed at addressing the city’s growing population and housing needs. The meeting was a crucial step in ensuring that urban development aligns with the city’s long-term goals of providing affordable and sustainable housing options for its residents.
Mayor Lazatin highlighted the significance of the city’s first-ever medium-rise socialized housing project, a groundbreaking initiative that he personally led. The project will provide 2,450 affordable housing units to Angeleños, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban development. This project is seen as a major step in improving the quality of life for low-income families and providing them with stable, secure homes.
The Mayor also emphasized that these housing projects are a key component of the city’s commitment to addressing the housing backlog and creating inclusive communities where all residents have access to basic needs such as shelter. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the different city departments and partners in making these housing programs possible.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the housing board to review the progress of current projects, evaluate plans for future housing developments, and discuss potential challenges and solutions. Through these regular meetings, Mayor Lazatin and other city leaders aim to ensure that housing remains a priority in the city’s development agenda.
Mayor Lazatin reiterated the importance of maintaining transparency and efficiency in the implementation of housing projects. He assured that the city government would continue to prioritize the welfare of its residents by providing them with affordable housing options that are both livable and sustainable.
With the success of the medium-rise socialized housing project and other ongoing initiatives, the city government remains focused on improving urban living conditions for all of Angeles City’s residents, ensuring that everyone has a safe and comfortable place to call home.
